Hair concerns may include shedding, breakage, patchy loss, scalp scaling or scarring. Nail problems may include thickening, discolouration, lifting, ridging, pitting, pain or inflammation around the nail. Not every abnormal nail is fungal, so testing may be needed before antifungal treatment is started.
