Rosacea
Dermaporium provides individualised care for facial redness, flushing, visible vessels and rosacea-related bumps and sensitivity.
Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory condition that usually affects the central face. It may cause persistent redness, flushing, visible blood vessels, acne-like bumps, burning or stinging. Some people also develop eye irritation or thickening of the skin, particularly around the nose.
Recognising patterns and triggers
Rosacea can be mistaken for acne, eczema or sun sensitivity. Common triggers include heat, sunlight, hot drinks, alcohol, spicy food, stress and irritating skin-care products, although triggers differ between individuals. Keeping a brief symptom diary can help identify patterns.
Signs or concerns may include
- Frequent facial flushing or persistent central redness
- Sensitive skin that burns or stings
- Red bumps or pustules without typical blackheads
- Dry, gritty, red or irritated eyes
Treatment at Dermaporium
Treatment may include gentle skin care, daily sun protection, topical or oral prescription medication and vascular procedures for persistent redness or visible vessels. Eye symptoms may require additional assessment. Rosacea cannot always be permanently cured, but a consistent plan can improve control and reduce flares.
